When Wix or Squarespace is fine
If you are just starting, have little budget and enjoy building yourself, a website builder is a fine start. For a simple digital business card with a few pages you do not need more.
Do count on your own time: building a good site, writing good copy and getting everything right on mobile easily takes a few evenings to weeks.
When having it built pays off
As soon as your website has to bring in customers, for example via Google, quote requests or online bookings, quality makes the difference. A fast site that is easy to find and leads visitors clearly to contact usually pays for itself quickly.
When time is scarce, having it built is often cheaper than it seems too: the hours you would spend on it, you spend on your own work.
